SEWING A BETTER LIFE

A sewing machine can provide a decent monthly earning to a widow led family, or young females who wish to contribute to their household income. It’s important that the receiver have prior knowledge of sewing beforehand or join our Craft Institute for training where they can learn how to sew for free.

It’s easy to set up, requires only a machine and sewing kit. We provide both a motor run and hand paddle sewing machine so that electrical outages do not affect the working.

How much does it cost?

It costs £120

What does it include?

A sewing machine with an electric motor and a hand paddle attachment

A sewing kit that includes: Threads, pins, sewing tape, scissors, tailors chalk, seam ripper, French curve and basic scale.

Maintenance kit: With an extra foot, bobbins, machine needles and oil.

How does it work?

Families that are given a sewing machine are able to save money by sewing their own clothes. Additionally, they can sew clothes for others in the neighbourhood. A dress or suit can take 1-3 days to sew depending on the design and can generate an income of Rs. 300-700 per piece.

There is more need for clothes during the wedding season and special occasions like Eid.
