VOCATIONAL EDUCATION FOR WOMEN

Situated in Dina, Jhelum, the craft school for girls and women is our contribution to providing vocational skills to women who wish to learn, acquire new skills and work. The craft school is a free school, where tailoring, pattern making, machine and hand embroidery, candle making and IT skills are taught.

Our students range from 15 years old and onwards. Each class room has a capacity of 30 students. Course length ranges from 6 months and over.

Once again, we wanted to establish an institute where women could comfortably learn and practice their skills, and socialise. The classrooms are bright and airy, with natural sunlight and high quality industrial machines with both a hand paddle attachment and a motorised one.

All the training and project materials are provided to the students, our teachers and trainers are highly skilled and passionate about the crafts. Keeping in line with our fair wages policy, we provide government standard wages to all our teachers, and encourage their skill and career development as well.

Upon completion of their course, the students are awarded with a certificate and a new sewing machine. We wish to develop this project to beyond an institute of learning, where we can provide our students with a platform to be employed by brands and companies or be self-employed upon their course completion.
