As we enter another Ramadan, let’s be mindful of the hardships of others. This is a beautiful and Holy month, where we get to maximise on our rewards and build a stronger connection with Allah.
Twelve months ago, none of us imagined life would be like what it is today. An invisible enemy has upturned the political, economic, and social fabric of the world. We are faced with a pandemic our generation has never seen or imagined. The strongest political systems and most modern nations have been brought to their knees and most of us are longing for the freedom we took for granted. ‘Lock Down’ after ‘Lock Down’ has made normal life a distant dream for everyone especially those living in this country.
It is important to remember that the biggest impact of the pandemic has been economic, and the resulting unemployment has had such an impact that many who were helping others before are now seeking help themselves, donors became recipients! Despite billions of pounds spent by the UK government more than 1.7 million people are unemployed and the number will increase after the government support ends. Imagine if a world leader like the United Kingdom is struggling to cope with the onslaught of pandemic what would be the situation in nations that are overpopulated, have fewer resources, have very basic or no public health care. Imagine countries like Syria and Yemen which are torn by war, where covid vaccination is the least of their concerns as hunger may take their lives before Covid does! Whilst we worry about getting the vaccine on time, elsewhere in the world people are searching for their next meal and trying desperately to stay alive.
In the last twelve months Al Mustafa Trust International, despite difficulties and limited resources, continued its efforts of providing thousands of families with clean water, food parcels, clothing, and basic healthcare.
Alhamdulillah, our great donors supported us through the pandemic, and we need your support this Ramadan too. Your donations in the form of Zakah, Sadaqa and Lillah are a lifeline for many, those who may survive Covid-19 but will surely not survive hunger. We count on your support and hope you will choose Al Mustafa Trust International as your trusted charity to help those who need it most.
May Allah Give you the means to continue your support for the needy and bless you for your generosity, Ameen!
